Full Professor of Computer Science and the Founder and Head of the M.O.D.A.L. group, he is an expert in AI and distributed systems, with significant experience organizing international workshops, including the VICTA series (2014-2017) and has chaired major conferences like MobiWis, ICDIM, ACM Multimedia and ICDCS. He has played significant roles in organizing special sessions at conferences like PDP 2023 and 2024. He has served on program committees for leading conferences, including RTSS and ECML-PKDD, focusing on scalable algorithms and practical applications in smart cities and IoT. He authored more than 250 papers, including journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters, with key publications in prestigious venues such as Journal of Scientific Computing, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and Future Generation Computer Systems. His work has garnered significant recognition in the academic community, with numerous citations reflecting the impact and relevance of his research in the field.
